404: Freedom Not Found
404: Freedom Not Found is a group project completed by Sean Ostashek and myself as part of our third year design core class. The project is a campaign with a series of print and web deliverables that focus on drawing attention to the ethical issues surrounding Net Neutrality.
The campaign makes uses of a deliberate obfuscation of real world information in a tongue-in-cheek way. This is done to draw attention to a hypothetical future in which personal freedoms are limited due to aggressive legislation of the internet.
The visual rhetoric of the campaign is couched in 400 error codes that are common in internet protocols, the most popular (404: Page Not Found) serving as the basis for the name of the campaign.
